Infeasible, NOT Impossible
One trick that Transhumanists use in convincing the gullible is that they point out that no one has proven their claims to be impossible. But who knows what might be possible some day in the distant future?
The way to attack Transhumanism is to show that it is infeasible, which is a lot different than impossible. Anything might be possible including time travel and warp drive. But many things are infeasible.
The difference between impossible and infeasible is money and time. It is possible to build a 747 in your backyard, but it isn't feasible. Why not? Well for a number of boring reasons like: How could you afford it? Where will you get all the materials? How long will it take you? How will you lift the wing to attach it to the fuselage? Etcetera…
No one will ever prove Drexler's and de Grey's ideas to be impossible. But it is possible to show that they are infeasible which means we simply don't need to take them seriously … yet. Maybe thousands of years in the future, but not during our lifetimes.
